Insight gained.

The programme integrated cleanly into the new sales model rather than competing with it. Internal stakeholders called that out specifically.

Context & challenge

MINI Nordics runs MINI sales and MINI Financial Services across the Nordic markets, as part of BMW Group. When ddx started, the business was moving to The New Retail (TNR), BMW Group’s new sales model, which redrew who does what between the national sales company, the finance company and the partners who sell the cars.

The Loyalty 360 in December 2024 set out where things stood. The systems were mature, but running two tracks side by side during the move to TNR added complexity. Processes and reporting were not working well enough: too many customers were not getting the right follow-up, or were not contacted at all.

There was also a clear opportunity. A large group of customers with the F56 generation of the MINI hatch would soon be due a car from the next generation.

Objective

Keep the existing customer base growing while the organisation moved to its new sales model: clear responsibilities between the national sales company, the finance company and the partners, closer work between sales and finance, contact with every customer, and retention used to secure sales on a limited budget, leaving room for conquest.

Approach

ddx ran the Loyalty 360 over two days in early December 2024 with the management teams of the national sales company and MINI Financial Services. On the second day ddx presented its findings and a first strategy, and the team agreed an action plan across communication, reporting and data, culture and training, the customer, and products and services, each action with an owner and a date.

The first actions moved quickly. By March 2025 there was a key-for-key offer with call scripts from ddx for the business development centre (BDC), the central team that calls customers. Retention reporting at partner level was in place, and the customers of closed dealerships had been passed to their nearest partner.

Next came the ddx Customer Loyalty Programme with the partners: two days on site working the live renewal pipeline with sales managers and sales executives. The programme was piloted with Swedish and Norwegian partners in 2025. In May 2026 it was run for more Norwegian partners, alongside a session for MINI’s own sales and finance staff that included

Results

30+ incremental sales directly traceable to the pilot. A return of more than 300% on the investment.

The pilot left MINI Nordics with a retention roadmap for 2026. Internal stakeholders called out how cleanly the programme integrated into the new sales model, rather than competing with it.

Norwegian participants rated the 2026 sessions 10 out of 10 for overall satisfaction and for understanding of the method, and 9.7 out of 10 for how well it applies to their everyday work.
